La Lune Apothecary

I know I've written about this before, but one of my favorite things to do is try new product. My sister probably said it best when she said that calling it product meant that I had a problem. I suppose I should call it face wash, moisturizer, sunscreen, etc. in order to not give my problem away. Regardless of what I call it, I absolutely love skincare.
As I've gotten older, or perhaps it is being a mom, I try to use more natural products that are better for my body and for the environment.
I had seen La Lune Apothecary on Instagram, and I saw that their customers raved about their products. I went on their website to read about their products, and was impressed with what I saw. La Lune Apothecary was generous to send me their Botanical Facial Polish and Cellular Revival Anti-Aging Serum to test and review.
La Lune Apothecary uses only ingredients that are organic and that are preservative and chemical-free. They are also environmentally conscious. Their packaging is minimal, recyclable and made in the USA. Their blue glass bottles are specially made to keep their products safe from light pollution.

Botanical Facial PolishThis crushed botanical blend sloughs off dead skin cells, removes impurities, treats acne, repairs tissue and is nourishing for all skin types. La Lune Apothecary's Botanical Facial Polish is effective yet gentle enough be used daily. It contains Organic Horse Chestnut, which is used as a toner for acne prone skin, as well as with anti-aging. It also contains Organic Aloe Vera powder, which acts as a moisturizer, soothes redness, and also firms and tones the skin. Organic Lavender buds are easy to see and to smell-it is antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and has cell regenerating properties used for reducing wrinkles and scars. To use, the Botanical Facial Polish is mixed into a paste with water.

Cellular Revival Anti-Aging SerumCellular Revival Anti-Aging Serum is a regenerative anti-aging blend of exquisite oils: Cold-Presed Organic Oil from Baobab seeds are rich in vitamins A, E, & F, which moisturizes dry skin and improves the elasticity of skin. Cold-Pressed Organic Rose Hip Seed Oil, contains high levels of fatty acids and is exceptionally healing for damaged, dry, or prematurely aged skin. Organic Carrot Seed Oil is an excellent healing essential oil for sun-damaged, wrinkled skin. Cold-Pressed Organic Macadamia Nut oil closely resembles human sebum, which allows it to be quickly absorbed and is protective, healing, & soothing.

I was very excited to try La Lune Apothecary products, especially the Botanical Facial Polish. I do find the scent (which is natural, from the herbs themselves) to be pleasant, but quite strong. It was easy to use, and worked very well to exfoliate my skin. With my skin being so sensitive, I can only exfoliate 1-2 times per week. The Cellular Revival Anti-Aging Serum felt very silky when I applied it, and my skin drank it up. It did not feel overly oily at all, but quite soft. Unfortunately, because my skin is so sensitive, the products did irritate my skin a bit. My face, while exfoliated nicely and very soft, was itchy for several hours. It didn't get red and rashy, however, and once it calmed down, I was fine. The products are lovely, and I'm disappointed that I cannot use them regularly. I can use the face polish if I mix with extra water, and the serum mixed with my regular moisturizer. On the other hand, my husband uses both products regularly, and loves them. His face looks fantastic-it is fresher and brighter. His skin would be considered normal/combination. I'm so happy that he is able to use the products, because they are very high quality and work extremely well. Do not hesitate to try La Lune Apothecary. I react to even products for sensitive skin, so if you have normal skin, or even if you are slightly sensitive, their line will very likely be a fantastic fit for your skin.
