I'm currently obsessed with fragrance. I've always loved it, but with fragrance subscriptions, I can try a variety of scents without committing to just one. Scentbird is a very popular fragrance subscription service that recently sent me a one month trial to review.
Scentbird has over 450 designer and niche fragrances for men and women. Subscribers get a generous 0.27 oz supply of their chosen scent in a travel-friendly spray. With their first order, subscribers get a super cute (and free), refillable case in their choice of color. Obviously, I chose pink!
When I visited with Scentbird, they asked me if I had chosen a scent. I was open to trying something new, so I asked them to select something for me to try. I was sent Juliette Has A Gun, Not A Perfume. I had heard of the brand, but I had never tried any of their scents.
When I first heard the name, Not A Perfume, I envisioned something light and airy. I normally opt for sweeter, gourmand scents, so I was totally curious about a perfume that isn't a perfume. Not A Perfume is made out of a single element called Cetalox. Cetalox is usually used as a base note, and is on trend as a minimalist scent. It is completely allergen free, which alone is a huge plus. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect. Even after wearing it, I cannot easily describe Not A Perfume. It is a woodsy warm amber, but it isn't soft at all. That being said, it is still extremely pleasant. Not A Perfume has a lingering warmth, yet it is still fresh and clean. Regardless of being able to adequately describe Juliette Has A Gun, Not A Perfume, I get so many compliments when I wear it. It is long-wearing, wears nicely, and it is unique. It is definitely a scent to try.
